Staff Comment

This is Ref. 94300 with a bezel engraved with a tachymeter scale directly on stainless steel.
The flat satin-finished bezel reinforces the impression of the rugged kamaboko case.
The so-called "solo dial" with only ""TUDOR"" to the left of the date display is also a major point of interest.
The bracelet is fitted with a later Tudor-inspired Ref. 78360/FF 589.
The watch is generally in good condition and has a nice atmosphere with natural ageing.
Overhauled at our own workshop in July 2024.
This is the third generation of Tudor chronographs and the first automatic chronograph.
The movement is the Cal. 7750, which was released around 1974 by Valjoux, the famous watchmaker that created the Cal. 72 series used in Rolex's Daytona. Despite the fact that the Cal.7750 had been discontinued in 1975 due to industry headwinds, Tudor recognized its excellence and included it in the Chronotime, which was to go on sale in 1976.
The case that houses the 7.9mm-thick movement is massive, and is nicknamed the "big block" or "kamaboko case" in Japan, and is one of the key points of the Chronotime's popularity, along with many other design features inherited from the Daytona of the same era.
