In 1962, Jack Heuer, who had made a name for himself in sports timekeeping through the creation of excellent dashboard clocks and stopwatches, was appointed president of Heuer, and in 1963, in anticipation of the coming age of the wristwatch chronograph, he released a new generation of chronographs that became the Carrera, TAG Heuer's current flagship. The Carrera, TAG Heuer's flagship, was born.
Named after the legendary Carrera Panamericana, the "most grueling race of all time," in which 27 people lost their lives in just five events, this collection is a masterpiece of Jack Heuer's passion for motor sports that has transcended time and fascinated people around the world.
